Cosmological ideas have ecological consequences; both in the way people live and in the impact they have on their environment. How have the sacred stories of the Mayan Popol Vuj shaped the Maya’s relationship with the earth? Threatened by big agri-business and monocropping that continues to sweep the farmlands of Guatemala, a Mayan family looks back into thier sacred stories and Indigenous agriculture, leading other communities to follow in the drought.
